Scorched 3D is an impressive freeware game that is based on the DOS game Scorched Earth, meeting all the expectations of a classic remake.
Scorched 3D gives you the option of playing either a simple, straightforward, 'destroy the enemy' style game, or you can dig deeper into the strategy of the game and collect your winnings together from each battle to buy more powerful weapons at the end of each game.
You are set in a 3D island arena with your two tanks and it is your task to find your enemies and blow them away. The camera angles take a short while to get used to but you are sure to find one you are comfortable with.
Scorched 3D has the option of playing over LAN or the internet with up to twenty four other players making it a great multiplayer game.
Overall Scorched3D is a highly recommended download, you wont regret it.
This game is superb in many ways but one - the graphics are not that great in full screen mode, but if you down size the screen it's great. The one problem is that you cant move the tank to different places so if you get placed in a horrible place you can't move. The different bombs are great and the different walls are great, too. Like the 'bounce wall' which bounces the bombs around. Its a great game.
It is an excellent game and the graphics are superb too. At least if you set the graphics resolution higher and all the effects on. Its much better than Worms or Gunbound.
Wow! I can't believe it is back! I enjoyed playing it again like the old times... Great come back!
I played Scorched Earth a while ago on a 386, I'm biased what can I say.
It's good but not so easy to win.
