Sometimes it lags or I get kicked out but that is because someone is trying to contact me by phone (I have dial-up and only one phone line). Sometimes it's annoying but the game is too good to put down.
The game was made for Singapore so you can't find the extras in America. This makes some objects very hard to find. Hopefully they will extend these extras to American retailers sometime in the future. The thing I like most about this game is that you get to talk to people from halfway around the world. However, it is hard to find them again afterwards. Fortunately, the forum helps to contact people and exchange information.
The first little while will seem like a drag because you must level up to atleast 10-20 for the fun stuff. But dont take advantage of the easy levelling. When you first start off, it only takes about 4 green snails (easiest monster in game) to level up.
By level 25-30, 5 green snails is about 0.01% experience. After level 12-13 you can do about a level a day (2 hours a day). I am currently at level 29 and believe me it takes about 3 days of training to level. But the game is still fun. The quests are wicked too! I strongly recommend this game to anyone who knows how to have fun. Enjoy!
This game just opened to everyone so now anyone can start an account. This game has very good graphics. It is a game that will let you be yourself. After you reach level 8 you can ride the boat to Victoria Island where you will choose what you want to be.
You can be a magician, theif, bowman, or warrior. You can interact with other players in many ways which is a plus. The only problems I've had with this game is the lag. I usually just switch to another world. But there's still a little bit of lag in almost empty worlds. And yes, it takes terribly long to level up.
This game is just sweet. I played it for some time and it's just great. Beautiful 2D graphics:

- Excellent animation on characters.
Other good aspects of Maple Story:
- Lot of people.
- Many Events.
- Pets.
- Many Classes such as:
-Swordsman, Archer, Magican
-Page, Spearman, Crusadier, White Knight, Dragon Knight
-Fire/Poison Mage, Lightning/Ice Mage, Cleric, Priest
-There are also lots of weapons and items, including unique ones!
-Many Quests
-And lots of other stuff.
MapleStory is a good game, but it takes a while to download. When you just start playing, it will seem boring, but there are many things which can make the game fun. For me, I play with my family, friends, my friend's family, and my family's friends.
Also, my friends and I find it highly addictive. Overall, once you have at least one character level 15 or above, and are starting on another, you will have more intrest, and if you have friends and family you know personally, it'll make it more fun too.
Take my advice and play MapleStory if you don't already. :)
A great free MMORPG that all gamers should give a chance. With a vast world to explore and seemingly neverending quests, the game keeps you busy for hours on end. My only complaint is that the quests become extremely annoying over time, as your asked to collect greater quantities of harder-to-obtain items. This is fun for a while, but sooner or later it may tire on your nerves (one of the reasons I just stopped playing). All-in-all it is a great, fun game and the free MMO aspect of it will keep you hooked.
I totally love this game because it challenges you and yea, I agree, its really hard to level but atleast levling is something you look forward to. This game I'd recommend to kids/teens that have no siblings (like me) and basically have no one to talk to and their life is tatlly boring. This way, they can interact with new friends from ALL over the world! The game can get addictive as well. Its just so cute and pretty and even if you can't battle against other peeps (PVP) it's stll kinda cool. I LOVE IT!
I like this game because it reminds me of Runescape but it takes longer to level up. It means you wait longer but you get more out of it, good because of that but bad because it means your sitting on your butt pressing keys.
Its cute and I love it and so do my friends. Like laura, she'll come up to me and say "stab stab stab stab stab stab stab stab!" I just laugh. I'm not that obsessed with it, but because my computer got wiped I have to download it again so thats why I'm here :) lol *sigh*

Lol Haruko-san - your computer/connection must really be really slow to make you lag because I have low speed connection with a 5 year old computer and Maplestory never lags. And also, Haruko-san , you said earlier that when two people kill a monster the experience is always shared evenly. This is FALSE! Experience is shared, depending on how much you hurt the monster. GOOD THING I CLARIFIED THINGS!
Your computer won't lag, unless it REALLY sucks. So there is no reason not to play this game.
I had this game on my computer for about 3 months but in that time I really only played it for about 1 week. Like the other person said, some areas have lag VERY badly. You get disconnected from the game easily. Later on in the game, it's a major pain in the ass to level up. The side scrolling thing was cool and all but it didn't make up for lacking aspects of the game. Also you fight against things like mushrooms and snails! I mean come on! seriously now. Mushrooms?!
