Quadratis is a Tetris clone. And incase you haven't played Tetris before, we've got remakes by the bucketful. They just keep on coming. There's Acid Tetris, Simpson's Tetris and DUOtris. There's Quadra and games that don't even sound like "Tetris" FloboPuyo
and Cubemaster Gold and that's not even half of them.

Where do all these Tetris games come from? I've got no idea, but in the virtual swimmingpool of Tetris games, what makes this particular one worth coming out of the water for? Well, nothing, really.

In a genre as wide as this one, something really special has to be a part of your game, otherwise it will just fall by the wayside. Unfortunately, this one does exactly that. It has a shadow effect where your ball is going to drop, and bombs which clear a large area. However, the shadow becomes a nuisance after a while and the bomb can come at unwanted times.

Fortunately, it is decent enough to look at and does play fairly well. Those things it has in its favour. Other than that though, you can just keep swimming and you'll probably wash up on sunnier shores very soon.

Haha... I am the developer of this tetris clone. I posted it on my personal website to show of for job interviews and then forgot about it.

I agree with your review, this was a learning exercise and wasn't meant for widespread release, I just think it's cool that someone actually found it, played it, wrote about it, and rehosted it :D

As far as "where do all these tetris games come from"... well, tetris is like the "hello world" program for aspiring game programmers.
