Overview

"A game with a Kitty" charms players with its nostalgic 2D platforming and irresistibly cute protagonist. This bite-sized adventure delivers precisely what its title promises: straightforward feline fun wrapped in a retro package. While its brief runtime leaves some wanting more, the experience shines through polished mechanics and an abundance of personality. Early adopters praise its accessibility and old-school appeal, though minor performance quirks occasionally interrupt the otherwise smooth journey.

This is a really well-made little game with wonderful Nintendo-style graphics and sound.

Purr-fect Platforming Fundamentals

As the adorable blue cat Kittey, players leap through vibrant worlds filled with chicken birds and spiky monsters, each defeated with satisfying "pop" sound effects. The controls feel immediately intuitive – simple keyboard inputs for movement and jumping create a low barrier to entry without sacrificing responsiveness. Cleverly placed save points eliminate frustration, encouraging experimentation rather than punishing failure. This thoughtful design transforms what could be a basic platformer into an effortlessly enjoyable experience where the focus stays firmly on fun.

The gameplay loop excels in its simplicity. Jumping on enemies delivers tactile satisfaction, while environmental hazards provide just enough challenge to keep things engaging without becoming punishing. Though experts might blaze through the adventure in just a couple hours, the journey remains consistently entertaining throughout. Each level feels carefully constructed to deliver micro-doses of accomplishment, making it perfect for short play sessions during work breaks or between daily tasks.

Retro Charm with Modern Conveniences

Visually, the game wears its influences proudly, channeling the golden age of Game Boy and NES classics through pixel-perfect animations and vibrant scrolling backgrounds. The Nintendo-inspired aesthetic extends to chiptune-style music that complements the action without overwhelming it. Kittey's expressive movements and the enemies' cartoonish designs create a cohesive world that feels both nostalgic and fresh.

Practical touches enhance the retro foundation. The option to toggle between full-screen and a discreet smaller window caters perfectly to players sneaking quick sessions during other activities. This flexibility pairs well with the game's lightweight requirements, ensuring smooth performance on most systems. Only occasional slowdown in later levels disrupts the otherwise consistent frame rate – a minor but noticeable hiccup in an otherwise polished presentation.

The amusing storyline (or lack thereof) and smooth animations make this a worthwhile download for any gamer.

In this cute 2D platform game you play as, strangely enough, a lovable blue kitty named Kittey. As Kittey, it is up to you to brave the perils of chicken birds and spiky monsters to investigate the Strange Tower in the west, just because you can. This game is easy enough to play (shift/ctrl/arrows/enter) and has ok graphics and sound, typical of any arcade-type game. It also comes with cute sound effects, the various nasties making satisfying popping noises when you jump on them. A game with a Kitty can be played in two screen sizes, full screen and annoyingly small. (But easy enough to hide if you're playing while you should be doing something else...) I was also extremely excited with the numerous save opportunities scattered throughout the game, making playing enjoyable rather than frustrating. That said, it is a short game and experts should have it finished in 1 or 2 hours. However, the amusing storyline (or lack thereof) and smooth animations make this a worthwhile download for any gamer.

This is a really well-made little game with wonderful Nintendo-style graphics and sound. The "story" is irrelevant, but apparently there is one. I had fun playing this game and will keep it on my computer a little longer. Simple controls, a cute main character and good sound effects and music. The look and feel (scrolling backgrounds etc.) is just like an old Gameboy or Nintendo game. You should give it a try.

It's a nice little game that can be enjoyed at work... *looks areound if the boss is watching* ...and at home. The difficulty of the game is just right to make it entertaining for a longer play time although the "longer" play time can be limited by the games shortness, but it still has more enjoyable parts and can entertain you better then 90% of the newly released buy-able games in stores.
