The second in a series of Boulder Dash clones from one man developer Spam
In this, the sequel to Cave Chaos (hence the title) you are again, the lone blocky looking triangle who is in search for diamonds, in this graphically improved cave.
Once again, and for another unexplained reason, your triangle is down in the mine shaft. Fortunately this one is a lot prettier to look at than the one in the original game. However, it is also more difficult.
There are several difficulties to choose from, which all contain loads of levels each, ranging from Easy to Insane. Not to mention the bonus levels “just thrown in” which include Cave Chaos 1’s levels, all with the improved graphics of the sequel.
Perhaps the most important change in this version is not one which affects the eyes, but a different sense… hearing. There are sounds in this game and not only that, the awful music of the original is gone and new music has been substituted. Also, it doesn’t speed up awkwardly when the time runs out.
Cave Chaos 2 is a sequel which improves upon the basic model of the original without losing the charm and main attractors of what made it appealing. All the while providing a solid experience from start to finish… and it also has a level editor.
