Electricity

Arcade

Overview

Electricity offers a modern reinterpretation of the classic Snake formula, transporting players to a digital landscape where they control a power worm collecting energy charges across what appears to be a circuit board or hard drive environment. Early impressions suggest a visually appealing but mechanically familiar experience that delivers competent gameplay without significant innovation. While the core concept shows promise, the execution remains firmly in "decent time-passer" territory rather than offering a standout experience in the arcade genre.

Digital Aesthetics & Core Mechanics

The game's strongest aspect appears to be its visual presentation. The digital environment, whether representing a circuit board or hard drive architecture, creates an interesting technological backdrop for the action. Clean geometric designs and a cohesive color scheme give the playing field a polished appearance that elevates the simple concept. Collectible electricity charges and environmental hazards maintain visual clarity while contributing to the technological theme.

Gameplay follows the classic Snake blueprint almost exactly: players navigate an ever-lengthening power worm through confined spaces, collecting energy orbs while avoiding collisions with both obstacles and their own trailing segments. The movement system receives mixed feedback, described as occasionally "jerky" but generally functional enough to maintain playability. The core loop of sequential collection provides that familiar, satisfying progression of increasing challenge as your worm grows longer and maneuvering space diminishes.

Collecting the electricity charges in order is a nice touch, and you can tell where it's going and what it's doing.

Presentation & Overall Experience

Audio design mirrors the game's visual approach with serviceable but unremarkable electronic soundscapes. The soundtrack and sound effects complement the technological theme without becoming distracting, though some auditory elements feel slightly "askew" according to early feedback. This creates an inoffensive but forgettable audio backdrop that neither enhances nor detracts significantly from the experience.

As a modern Snake variant, Electricity succeeds at delivering functional arcade gameplay but doesn't introduce meaningful innovations or compelling reasons to choose it over other iterations of the formula. The technological reskin provides visual novelty initially, but the underlying mechanics remain identical to countless similar titles. The absence of any narrative context or progression systems leaves the experience feeling somewhat barebones, though this simplicity may appeal to players seeking straightforward arcade action.

Electricity is a game which is like Snake. Except this time you’re not a snake, you’re a power worm of some sort, racing across a hard drive in order to collect all the electricity. It’s a pretty nice looking game, it’s not super, but it is quite nice. The hard drive (if that’s what it is) looks pretty good. It’s like a big power circuit of some sort. There is no story so I assume it's a hard drive. Anyway, it does look very good and so do the little things to collect and also the ones to avoid. The snake itself is a little bit jerky though for the most part it’s quite smooth and you can tell where it's going and what its doing. So on the whole the game play is pretty nice, and collecting the electricity charges in order is a nice touch. The music and sounds together are quite like the rest of the game as already described, they are nice as a whole and while some things are a little askew, it’s pretty good all around. So if you can’t get enough of that crazy snake and want to see what he’s up to on the power board, then by all means check out this game, it’s alright.
