GoldFish II

GoldFish II

Arcade

Overview

GoldFish II swims in familiar waters, offering an experience nearly identical to its predecessor with only subtle shifts in pacing and content. Early feedback suggests this aquatic adventure maintains the same core appeal of swimming through vibrant environments while collecting fruit, but introduces questionable new elements that may give parents pause. It's a safe choice for fans of the original, though expectations of innovation should be tempered before diving in.

The game plays a bit slower in my mind, and I don't remember collecting illicit drugs which fall through the ocean.

Familiar Waters with Murky Additions

Returning players will immediately recognize GoldFish II's core gameplay loop, which faithfully recreates the original's relaxing aquatic exploration. You guide the same charming fish protagonist through colorful underwater landscapes, navigating currents and obstacles while gathering healthy fruits. The visual presentation appears nearly identical to the first installment, maintaining its cheerful aesthetic and straightforward controls that made the original accessible to younger audiences.

However, this sequel introduces perplexing new elements that disrupt the family-friendly tone. Players now encounter illicit drugs descending through the water column, presenting unexpected content that feels tonally inconsistent with the otherwise wholesome experience. This addition creates a jarring contrast to the game's bright, cartoonish visuals and simple collection mechanics. While the core gameplay remains unchanged, this questionable content choice may necessitate parental guidance or steer families toward the original title instead.

In this, the sequel toGoldfish Adventure, you play the same fish from Disney's "The Little Mermaid" and you swim around collecting healthy fruit. The differences are fairly subtle in this remake, over all things look almost identical to the original. The game plays a bit slower in my mind, and I don't remember collecting illicit drugs which fall through the ocean. Because of that, you may want to steer your children towards the first instalment. However, over all, the game contains approximately the same amount of enjoyability and playability, so if you enjoyed the first one, its a safe bet that you'll also like this one. Just don't be upset if you're expecting something revolutionary.
