Spectacularly blow away a myriad of shapes into a rainbow of explosive colours.
A fast-paced, retro-styled arena shooter with separate movement and firing controls, features 2-player support, 6 distinct enemies, and unlimited waves. Similar, though wholly different to the previously reviewed Echoes, Rainbow Wars is a neon explosion of colour which occurs all over your screen.
If you’re in control of a dual analog gamepad, it is recommended for play, though this reviewer used mouse and keyboard input witched worked well. Once you see it in action, Rainbow Wars is one of those instant classics, containing with ease a well-developed arcade experience in a neat little package.
Featuring no music of its own and minimal sound effects, the game seemingly invites you to experience it with your own music. Perhaps something similarly titled which has also been released recently? Either way, the game wholly screams retro arcade fun and is without a doubt, totally that. Please, enjoy Rainbow Wars.
