The rise of the arena shooter is certainly all around us. As mentioned recently, games like NaaC, Echoes and Mono have grabbed our attention which has left side-scrolling shooters by the way side. Attempting to further separate the two genres is another extremely well made arena shooter.

As per the usual, you start off in a quiet arena by yourself. Slowly but surely a range of enemies will start to populate the arena. Beginning with basic ones, the amount and difficulty of them soon greatly increases until a flurry of light dances across the screen in all directions. The key enemy are the gravity creatures who suck you and everything else into them – including each other, should they become powerful enough.

With impressive graphics (watch the background grid melt through movement) and incredibly intense game play for the relatively small download – the only down side is the controls. To aim in a different direction you need to move in that way and press the mouse button to re-align your guns. Though confusing at first, it does become more and more usable and easy to control with time and practice. When it does, you will find this to be massive power-house of a game.
